About the book: Vally the Villo is ready for an adventure! She is finally old enough to take
a solo peek at her outside world (with her mother's permission of course! ) Never has she climbed a tree, met other Villo
families or run through the hills on her own. Today is the day for her to start her new adventure. She uses her
mother's wisdom to make her way safely to get home in time for dinner. To most people, Villos are an unknown
and unseen animal specie. In fact, there is no reported documentation of such an animal anywhere in the world. However,
in the mind of the young author of this book, Villos did exist. According to Abbie, Villos walked the earth millions
of years ago, just like the dinosaurs. They had very large families, were full of energy and were very kind. Abbie is happy
to introduce Vally, the Villo. Part of the proceeds from the sale of this book will go toward the Rheumatoid Arthritis Foundation

Abbie had a book signing at Barnes & Noble in March of 2008 (see picture below.) Also, a book signing in April
of 2008 at Von Liebig Author and Book Festival.

About the author: Abbie, a determined and
curious child has a gift for creativity and she is very pleased to share a part of her
imagination with you! In 2006, at the age of 5, Abbie started drawing a strange little creature whom she
called a Villo. She decided that she wanted to make a story about Vally, the Villo. Unbeknownst to us, she
was in the early stages of an undiagnosed disease. As this undiagnosed disease silently progressed, Abbie
was spending more time indoors drawing. She used drawing as an outlet of relief. Within a short period
of time, the symptoms seemed to snowball and it became an emergency situation. We rushed her to St Mary's
Hospital in Rochester, MN. After a two week stay and hundreds of tests later, Abbie was finally diagnosed with
Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis. Abbie's doctor found the right combination of medications to stabilize her condition.
Abbie remained on heavy medication for two and a half years. In the Spring of 2010, Abbie reached the light at the end of
the tunnel; her doctor told us Abbie was in remisson! There have been no symptoms of the disease for over a year.
We were able to finish the publishing process by Fall 2007. Since then, Abbie has had two book
signings and a several interviews that were published in newspapers. In the mean time, Abbie has been
taking piano lessons for 3 years, was in dance for 5 years, and is now starting softball. She loves to go fishing and hunting
with her grandfather in Wisconsin and visits her dad in the Virgin Island of St. Croix as well.

Also, our kind-hearted Mayor of Naples, Bill Barnett, asked for and received a signed copy of Abbie's book
to put in his office. Bill Barnett said he is happy to buy a book knowing that part of the proceeds are going toward a good
cause, the Arthritis Foundation. Ernest Hemingway has a grandaughter, Mina, in Naples and she owns a bookstore
called Hemingway Florida Bookstore. Mena invited Abbie to bring some of her books into her store to be sold. Mina has a 10
year old grandson who recently had a book published!
